Tree- shaping

"CHAIR THAT GREW"
Our inspiration & dreams
In addition to creating a furniture orchard, we are also committed to creating a live history museum showcasing some of the world’s greatest tree-shaping artworks. Our aim is to bring together reproductions of these masterpieces from different places around the world in one place, creating a unique and awe-inspiring experience for visitors.
The art of tree-shaping is a practice that has been around for over 500 years. Its roots can be traced back to a painting by JOHANNES PERRAL in 1516, but the history of this art form is much older than that. Throughout the centuries, many people have tried to shape trees, both famous and unknown, leaving their mark on the landscape.
Despite the passing of time, the art of tree-shaping remains as inspiring as ever. It is a testament to the human desire to create beauty and to live in harmony with nature. The great tree-shapers of the past have left us with a legacy that we can still admire today. Their works are a reminder of the power of art to transform the world around us.
Our biggest sources of inspiration at the moment are such amazing men like John Krubsack and his “Chair That Grew”, Axel Erlandson and his “The Tree Circus” from past century, as well as Peter Cook & Becky Northey and “Pooktre”, Gavin Munro and “Full Grown” nowdays.
This world of tree-shaping is big, full of surprises and magic – come join the journey!
